As spring winds brush the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains Nyingchi's wild peach blossoms open in succession Complementing Namcha Barwa's pure white snow Namcha Barwa: Golden sunlight on snowy peaks Namcha Barwa, elevation 7,782 meters, means spear piercing the sky in Tibetan. Also called the shy maiden in the clouds, it is mist-shrouded year-round and reveals itself only about 50 days annually. Golden sunlight on its summit is an unpredictable, heaven-sent wonder. When morning or evening light falls obliquely, the triangular main summit changes from silver-white to golden red, gilded gold, and orange-red. Golden light flows along ice patterns amid the Yarlung Tsangpo, peach blossoms, and prayer flags. These 10–20 minutes of extraordinary light are a sublime moment in Tibetan photography.
