LEGAL / TERMS OF SERVICE
Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Beyond the Frame ('we') for using this site and the related services. Please read them before you create an account, send an enquiry or complete a booking; by using the service you accept them.
What the service does
We present photography journeys, photographers and their work, take enquiries and bookings, and run a support chat that includes an AI assistant. Journeys are delivered with photographers and local partners. Content, availability and arrangements can change; the journey page, the order page and what support confirms to you are what count.
Your account
- give us accurate information when you register and keep it up to date;
- keep your credentials safe: activity under your account is treated as yours;
- do not lend, transfer or use your account for anything unlawful, infringing or disruptive;
- you can ask us to close your account at any time; existing orders are handled under 'Cancellation and refunds' and 'Your responsibilities'.
If we see a breach, we may limit or close access to the account.
Enquiries and bookings
- an enquiry is not a booking; availability, price and departure date are confirmed on the journey page and by support;
- a journey may have a minimum group size or a booking deadline, as stated on its page;
- give us complete and accurate traveller details and contact information; losses caused by details that are wrong or missing are yours.
Price and payment
- the price, currency and inclusions are those shown on the journey page; anything not listed there, such as visas, flights, insurance and personal spending, is your own cost;
- we normally take a deposit to hold your place plus a balance payment, which is due by the date shown on the page or in our message;
- payments are handled by a third-party provider (Airwallex); we do not store full payment credentials, and the provider may charge conversion or processing fees;
- a late payment may release your place, which is handled under 'Cancellation and refunds'.
Cancellation and refunds
- we use the time you send the request through support or the order page, and refund in the bands published on that journey page;
- costs already incurred and not recoverable, such as flights, accommodation, visas and local arrangements already paid, may not be refundable;
- if force majeure such as a natural disaster, epidemic, war, government restriction or transport shutdown makes a journey impossible, we look for a new date or an alternative and refund what can actually be recovered;
- if we cancel because the group did not reach its minimum or for our own reasons, we refund what you paid that has not already been spent;
- moving your booking to another date or traveller is subject to our confirmation and to any costs already incurred.
Your responsibilities
- check and arrange your passport, visa, health documents and travel insurance;
- tell us about health conditions or dietary needs that affect the journey, follow the photographer's and leader's on-site instructions, and do not enter dangerous areas for a shot;
- respect local people and anyone you photograph: do not photograph or share private spaces or portraits without permission;
- if you miss or leave a journey for personal reasons such as lateness, documents or health, it counts as a cancellation by you and is not refunded.
Content and intellectual property
- the layout, text, icons and code of the site belong to us or to the relevant rights holder;
- photographs belong to the photographers and are shown here under licence; reuse or commercial use needs separate permission;
- do not crawl, copy or republish site content without written permission; sharing a link is fine.
What you submit
- text and images you send through support, reviews or events must be yours or properly licensed, must not infringe anyone else's rights and must not be unlawful;
- you give us permission to use and display that content as far as the service needs it, for example a trip recap or handling a problem, and you can withdraw that permission through support at any time;
- we may remove content that breaks these terms or infringes someone's rights.
AI-assisted answers
The AI assistant writes answers from public material, so they can be wrong, late or out of date. They are guidance only and are not a promise or part of the contract. For price, availability, itinerary and refunds, the journey page, the order page and a human reply are what count.
Limits of our responsibility
- as far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, lost expectations or the acts of third parties;
- for any single journey, our total liability does not exceed what you actually paid for it;
- losses caused by your breach of these terms, inaccurate information or your own fault are yours;
- nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as damage we cause deliberately or through gross negligence.
Changes and ending the service
We may change, pause or retire features and journeys, and will give notice on the site for material changes. You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to close your account; orders already placed are handled under 'Price and payment' and 'Cancellation and refunds'.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the place where the service operator is established. If a dispute arises we will first try to settle it with you directly; if that fails, either side may bring it before the competent court. Until it is resolved, both sides still have to meet the parts of these terms that the dispute does not affect.
